Mr Sanjay Sen is based in New Delhi, India and has over 15 years experience as a practicing lawyer. He has conducted diverse assignments in areas of corporate and commercial litigation, and infrastructure consulting. Mr Sen has appeared in over 2500 cases in the Supreme Court of India, covering a very wide canvas of domestic legislations. He has substantial experience in conducting cases before the Delhi High Court, Company Law Board, Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practice Commission, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and State Electricity Regulatory Commissions. In February 2013, Mr Sen was designated as a Senior Advocate by the High Court of Orissa.

Mr Sen is among the first Advocates to appear before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity on its inaugural day at New Delhi. He regularly represents clients and is involved in various sectoral issues that come up before the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, which ranges from tariff determination principles for generation and distribution, consumer open access, cross subsidy computations, interpretation of power purchase agreements (for NCEs), distribution license related matters, implementation of ABT, etc. Several of the Appeals he conducted have resulted in settling the interpretation of provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003.

Mr Sanjay Sen is actively involved in the power sector reforms and regulatory services, where he represents various State and Central Government entities. He has significant experience in infrastructure advisory practice, where he has been retained as teammember in various consultant-consortiums. He is associated in the third phase of electricity reform in Andhra Pradesh.
