Brig Subodh Kaul, VSM (retd) is an ex NSG, decorated officer with over 37 Years of operational and training experience in the Indian Army. He has a wide perspective and deep insight into counter terrorism issues and was the DIG and Chief instructor at elite National Security Guards from 2007 till April 2010 and has trained over 8500 commandoes from the Army, Para military ,Central and state Police organisations and friendly foreign countries. He was awarded the Director General NSG’s disc and VSM for high standard of professionalism in training the Black cat commandoes which manifested in successful 26/11 operations at Mumbai. Along with an active Army career he has also pursued academics and attained a string of degrees and diplomas with BA, LLB, MSc, Mphil, DLL&LW, MPDA other Security, management and certificate courses to his credit.

He had been actively associated with the US embassy in the conduct of its anti-terrorism programme at NSG in 2008. Post 26/11 he was closely associated with the training and raising of new hubs and introduction of new weapons and equipment into the NSG. A seasoned trainer he has conducted training sessions for the BSF, Rajasthan Police, National Police academy and Senior Security management executives in the corporate domain.

As director training Indianeye Security he has been actively associated with raising and running of the ISL institute of Homeland Security, where he has trained over 600 Special Police Officers of Mahrashtra Security Force, a force created for the security of Vital Installations and critical infrastructure under an act of the State legislature. ISL institute is the first Professional Private Security Training Institution in India to have two live shooting ranges and to have trained over 132 Lady Police officers. It provides from basic to highly advanced and specialized training.
